Single Process/Root Retouch/Base
Coverage of hair regrowth or grey on the roots
Glaze
Applied all over to enhance/change the hair color. Also used for toning after lightening services to rid the hair of any orange or brassy tones
Few Foils/Face Frame
A strategic placement of a small number of foils around the hairline to create a brightness around the face.(Usually booked with a glaze to tone, glaze not included)
Partial Highlights
Generally only the crown and some of the temple area are foiled. This creates a more dimensional look as darker hair is left underneath, allowing for more contrast between highs and lows. (Usually booked with a glaze to tone, glaze not included)
Full Highlights/Full Foils
All or most sections of the head are receiving a foil, crown, nape, temples and above the occipital bone. Best for achieving an all-over, less dimensional look. (Usually booked with a glaze to tone, glaze not included)
Lowlights
A color that is applied that’s darker than the base color. Used to break up heavy highlighting to create more dimension
Partial Balayage
A highlighting technique that involves painting the lightener directly onto the hair. This can be done with or without the use of foils. Starts 3/4ths length down the hair to create the appearance of lighter ends
Full Balayage
A highlighting technique that involves painting the lightener directly onto the hair. This can be done with or without the use of foils. Starts slightly higher than midway down the head to give the appearance of brightness with less dimension
American Balayage (Used with foils)
American Balayage involves hand-painting or freehand application of color onto the hair. This technique allows for greater control and precision, as the stylist strategically places the color where it will best complement your features and desired look. The result is a soft, seamless blend of colors that mimic the way natural sunlight would naturally lighten and highlight your hair.
French Balayage (No foils)
French Balayage involves the hand-painting or sweeping of color onto the hair, mimicking the way the sun naturally lightens and highlights hair. The technique is known for its soft, blended transitions between shades, creating a seamless and organic appearance. It allows for a more customized and personalized approach, as the stylist strategically places the color to enhance your unique features and hair texture.
